But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted to the LORD's own house. They flourish in the courts of our God. Psalm 92:12-13
And I may or may not be wearing flip flops in heaven. Really cute flip flops. Maybe a different pair every day.
Okay, so maybe not.
Actually, I know in Heaven I won't need either of those things, but it's how my human mind can relate it to my Heavenly happy on earth I suppose...
When I see a palm tree, my mood is immediately elevated. Do you know the feeling? Palm trees remind me of warmth and sunshine and really they are just super cool looking. Someday I plan to live somewhere where I can have a palm tree in my yard! And if it a coconut one, even better.
And where there are palm trees, you get to wear flip flops. All. the. time. I love that I can just slip them on and off with such ease. There's no real commitment and there are so many fun designs and colors...
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
It's not to say there aren't bad times, bad days, bad moods. But, life is good. God gives us little blessings every single day, so even if something does go wrong or seems bad, we can look to those little blessings and take heart! And thank God.
And so there are things in life that give me that palm tree and flip flop sensation. A sense of ease, satisfaction, contentment, excitement or all of those combined! It's not that I couldn't be happy without them; it's just that they give me that extra boost. Some may seem so trivial, very random and maybe funny to anyone but me. But that's okay.
It's the little things.
