Retro Wallet

So, I love Disney and I love Retro.  I had my eye on a wallet for some time.  When we took our girls Fall trip to WDW, I basically knew what souvenir I was going to buy...
Love the Retro Disney signage!

Once I bought it, I couldn't stop looking at it and rubbing my hands all over it.  No buyers remorse whatsoever.  I will love whipping this out of my purse whenever I need it!

There is even a purse to match, actually a couple different styles, but I wasn't in the market for a purse.

I will love whipping this out of my purse whenever I need it!

Retro Straw holder

Red and white straws complete the look!

RETRO!  Do we need a straw holder? Probably not, but it was just under $6 at Walmart and it reminded me of a 50s diner.  The kids love drinking with straws and it makes me happy every time I look at it on my counter!  I make sure to get the red and white straws from Meijer! ;)

Mickey Meeting Memories

It's no secret that our family loves Disney vacations.  We had a very special time at WDW last summer with our good friends, The Lopshires.  In anticipation of our trip, we had monthly Mickey Meetings to plan our days and just have fun talking about what we would do.
In June we tried our hands at making matching shirts.  The process was the most fun.  Check out this link: http://scrapinspired.com/2012/11/diy-disney-shirts-magic-kingdom-day-2/
We used our popcorn bowls as the hard, round surface we needed.  The markers bled through onto the bottom, and without even knowing it at the time, left a lasting memory of that meeting and the trip itself. We use the bowls tons so I wash them often and get that tingly feeling. Every. Time.

A made bed

I love my morning routine.

Especially this part.

I just love throwing open the curtains and making the bed.  It's as if my day can officially start.  To me there is great satisfaction in a made bed.

No one in my family agrees with me on this point. Not. one. single. person.

But that's okay.  It only takes a couple minutes of my time and starts my day off happy!

Beachside bedroom

Who doesn't love a beachy vibe?  After seeing pics of someone's condo in Florida, I thought maybe I could bring a little bit of Florida to my central Illinois bedroom.   I picked out new bedding, lamps, bedside tables, window coverings, rug and accessories, and then painted the walls.  Ahhh, it is so serene in here.

So little exciting palm trees in the room are:

~Wall shelves were bargain find at Goodwill.  Perfect length and perfect color.  SCORE!

~Wicker bedside tables were bargain find on Craigslist.  Perfect color and perfect size.  SCORE!

~Starfish lamps were bought at TJ Maxx with gift card.  The lampshades were perfect fabric and they fit so nicely under shelves.  SCORE!

~Palm leaf pillows were on sale at Kohls.  Perfect color and perfect size, and well, they are palms. SCORE!

~Jute rug was at Overstock.com and it is the softest feel, and perfect size and color for the space. SCORE!

~Entertainment center/dresser was a find at the resale shop in Fairbury.  Was $35 and perfect height and color for a beachy feel.  SCORE!

~Coral laundry hamper was found at TJ Maxx with my Christmas gift card.  Perfect color and free. SCORE!

Really my most favorite thing in the whole room is this canvas!  This pic was taken when Addie was 6 and Reece was 3 and it's probably one of my most favorite pics of all time.  Mom had given me a gift certificate to get a canvas made and I chose this one.  I also had this vinyl saying made by someone on ebay.  This came from a song that was sung on one of Addie's Disney Sing Along videos when she was little.  It always makes me smile.  This really completes the room for me!
