Cruise wear

I found the cutest pair of shoes at New and Again Resale Shop.  I LOVE resale shops.  Resale shops in of themselves are palm trees for me.  It just makes me feel good to save money and reuse something.  I wouldn't call myself a "green" person at all, but as far as shoes and clothes go, I just don't see spending a lot of money on new stuff if you can get super cute, cheaper used stuff!

So cute and so my size!

So then if you have the shoes you of course have to find something to go with them.  The shoes although cute, weren't necessarily a blog worthy palm tree and flip flop moment.  It was the next thing I found....

I just happened to see this in Kohls one day.  I saw it and knew right away it would match the shoes perfectly and together they would make the cutest outfit for supper one night on our upcoming summer Disney cruise!  Imagine my disappointment when I ran to the rack to see they didn't have my size.  It is a very flowy, billowy shirt so I really needed a small so my chest would not be swallowed.  I was so sad because it was just perfect with the exact colors and a little bling like the shoes had.  I happened around the corner to petites and there was the shirt in my size in the petite section! There was heavenly music playing in my head and I'm pretty sure there was a light shining down on the shirt.  I don't usually wear a petite anything because my torso is long and I'm not exactly short.  But, I tried it on and it worked!

Doesn't this scream "Cruise!" Ahhh, palm trees and flip flops, here I come!

LASIK

I had LASIK surgery yesterday and it is amazing!!

Aside from some cloudiness and slight irritation (almost like wearing your contacts too long or getting something in your eye) it was a piece of cake. The surgery was around 10:30 and I could see and was walking out of the office by 11:00. I will admit I was slightly nervous about it and even in the chair as they pulled the machine over my face I felt a bit uneasy, but it took all of 26 seconds on my right eye and 31 seconds on my left and it was over.

I go in for my 24 hour check up later on this morning and will be interested to see what my vision is as of now. Shannon thinks his was 20/40 the first day and by his week check up was 20/15. They say your vision can fluctuate for a few days, but all I know is I am seeing just as well at this point as I was with my contacts/glasses. I am so glad I actually got up the nerve and finally did it! I hope Addie will want to do it when she is older and won't wait as long as Shannon and I did.

Medical technology is amazing! This isn't a little thing...it's a HUGE thing!

*Update:

I went in for my two week check up and had 20/15 vision. I wonder how old I was the last time that happened. I got glasses in 7th grade! Shannon got them in 5th! And Addie got them in 3rd! I really hope she can have the surgery when she is older.

*Update Part 2:

Two years later, it is still one of the best things that has ever happened. Going from not being able to see my alarm clock, and bottles in the shower, and anything when I went swimming (my contacts never worked well in water!) to waking up and seeing everything is a big deal. I HIGHLY recommend LASIK surgery. Scrimp/Save/Budget to get there...it is well worth every penny in my opinion!!

New rug and pillows!

I was really wanting to find a rug for our living room that would match the walls and furniture we already had and just spruce things up a bit.  I found this rug on Walmart.com and then saw it on Homedepot.com for slightly cheaper, plus I used ShopDiscover and got 10% off. (I LOVE doing that!) So, the rug itself made me really happy when it came and was just so rich looking with beautiful deep colors.

But the real happy, jump for joy, run around the house smiling moment was when I found these pillows on Kohls.com.  They looked to be the same colors and were on sale for just over $11 with 30% off and of course free shipping (Shout out to retailmenot.com!).  When the box came I ran to the living room with it and opened it.  I threw the pillows onto the rug and the heavenly music started playing.  I called Shannon up so he could enjoy the moment as well.  He was happy for me, but really didn't get it and if he was honest was probably thinking "Did we need pillows?"

Copper, olive, mustard, chocolate and cranberry!
